DORMA-Glas GmbH (as a sales company for glass fittings and constructions) is founded in Ennepetal as a subsidiary of DORMA GmbH + Co. KG based in Ennepetal.

1979

Initial products in the field of patch fittings for toughened glass assemblies as well as locks and hinges for interior doors

1984/85

Range expansion to include sliding walls and shower fittings

1987

Move to Bad Salzuflen (4,000 sqm production and administration)

1991

New construction of the administration building (+ 1,700 sqm)

1994

Relocation of the company headquarters from Ennepetal to Bad Salzuflen

1997

New construction of an additional production facility (+ 5,000 sqm)

1997

Acquisition of Gral and Glamü (sanitary products)

2003

Set-up of powder coating facility (+ 1,200 sqm)

2004

Acquisition of Metzner GmbH (stainless steel processing)
Change of registered name to DORMA-Glastec GmbH (manufacture and sale of point-fixed stainless steel façade systems)

2006

Acquisition of MAME Türendesign GmbH (distribution of complete glass doors)

2008/09

Additional new construction of a production and logistics facility with integrated high-bay warehouse (+ 7,500 sqm)

2013

Dissolution of DORMA-Glastec GmbH
Transfer of sanitary products to today's Gral Systeme GmbH

2015

Merger of DORMA (incl. subsidiaries) and Kaba to form dormakaba

2021

Separation from the dormakaba Group.
DORMA-Glas GmbH manages the glass fittings business with the participation of Aliante Equity Tre S.p.A. under its own responsibility.
 

2026

Successful completion of the investor process.
Phillip Schlossstein (Schlossstein Capital AG) and James Roberts (Roberts Land Limited) become the new strategic long-term owners of the DORMA-Glas brand and DG Glas GmbH, marking a new beginning and securing the company’s long-term future.
